The World Record Stuntman

When it comes to setting World Records, there are none more qualified than "The World Record Maker " Jim Mouth. Jim the Ripley's stuntman has accumulated 22 and is the self proclaimed world record holder of the most world records. Whether it's a long grueling marathon or a short crazy stunt, Jim performs them with a flair of fun, excitement and usually on behalf of various charities in raising thousands of dollars for the needy.



SMOKED 159 CIGARETTES
Jim has performed this World Record many times and is probably his most recognized record from around the world. The most recent was on November 7, 2003 where Jim stuffed 159 cigarettes into his mouth Live on the "More Than Human" TV show on the Discovery Channel.

SMOKED 41 CIGARS
Jim had to set the world record for the most cigars in his mouth at once and as you can see he lights them up with a propane torch and tries to puff for 5 minutes. This was performed on April 21, 1983 on the television show That's Incredable!

SMOKED 40 PIPES
Only thing left to smoke would be pipes. On June 18, 1991 Jim took his mouth to Nippon television in Tokyo Japan to show the other side of the world that he could stuff 41 pipes into his head to set a world record for the most pipes smoked.

STADIUM SITTING - 101,701
Jim likes to sit around, like around 101,701 times. He sat at the University of Michigan football stadium in Ann Arbor Michigan on June 10-14, 1984. The sit-a-thon lasted 96hrs 20min and he wore through four pairs of Levis pants while raising over 70 thousand dollars for the American Lung Asso. Where's the best seat?

MOST PEOPLE
IN BED - 40

Jim has a lot of close friends and he shows this live on the 11pm News at KMFB TV8 in San Diego CA on July 16, 1993. Jim packs 39 of his best friends onto a King Size Superior Mattress for 5 min.while raising over 10 thousand dollars for the American Lung Asso. That's Jim on the bottom in the middle, Perfect!

Jim has appeared on many local television shows and nationally on; Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, Good Morning America, Discovery Channel's More Than Human, FOX Guinness TV Show, Oprah Winfrey, Jerry Springer, That's Incredible, Real People, PM Magazine, Tony Orlando, MTV, What's My Line and internationaly in Istanbul Turkey, Tokyo Japan and Madrid Spain. Newspaper and radio have covered his renown inspirations many times around the world. Jim's cigarette stuffed face was on the cover of an Esquire's publication and many times in various newspapers and magazines.

FIRST UNDERWATER BAND
Jim does other mundane type world records like the first underwater Rock & Roll Band. This stunt was performed on November 12, 1987 at the USC pool where the 1984 Olympics were held. Calling themselves "Atlantis" the band played for almost a half hour of aqua musical classics such as "Mack the Knife", "Sea Cruise" and an original called "Wet Rap".

LONGEST CRAWL
25 MILES

Probably one of Jims most grueling marathons to date, he straped on some car tires,lots of padding and pure guts and crawled 25 miles on his hands and knees from his hometown to Detroit MI on October 24 - 25, 1979. He performed this feat (or kneeded) in 23 hours and 40 minutes and raised over 30 thousand dollarsfor the March of Dimes.

HOT DOG
STUFFING - 18

Jim loves his hot dogs, so on March 27, 2002 for the Ripley's Believe It Or Not TV show. Jim stuffed 18 original hot dogs from the oldest hot dog stand in Los Angeles the "Tail of the Pup" to show the best hot dogs on the west coast are in LA at the "Tail of the Pup" in downtown.


5000 METER JUMP
PARKING METERS

This grueling marathon in which Jim dared to jump, non-stop, 5000 times a Michigan parking meter which is 60 inches from ground to top. This stunt took place in Farmington MI on October 25, 1983 and raised over $20,000 to benefit the American Lung Association. Jim recalls twice not quite jumping high enough and having numerous blisters and not being able to walk for three days after but the meter was always paid!

MOST STRAWS IN MOUTH 280
Running out of things to stuff into his face Jim breaks a world record he set for the National Enquirer years ago by stuffing 280 full size straws into his mouth. This stunt was performed at the grand opening of Ripley's Believe It Or Not Odditorium in Times Square New York on June 21, 2007.

DRUMMING DURATION - 320 HOURS
This is the world record that hurt the most, mental fatigue, physical fatigue, who am I..... because of the lack of sleep. Jim pushed his body to the max by playing the drums for 320 hours non-stop at a night club in Rochester Michigan from June 19 - July 3, 1976 just in time for the 200 year anniversary of USA. Thats two weeks of continous playing in front of an audience while raising over 50 thousand dollars for the March of Dimes.

MOST DRESSED MAN - 60 SHIRTS 30 PANTS
Not the best dressed but the most dressed man in the world! This record was set on November 21, 1996 live on the Jerry Springer Show were Jim donned himself with 30 pairs of pants, 60 shirts and was rolled out on stage on a hand cart!

PIZZA STUFFING - LARGE
Jim unhinging his jaw one more time to set a world record Live on the Jerry Springer Show. He stuffed a large Chicago pizza into his mouth on November 26, 1996 to show just how much he loves Chicago pizza!

REVERSE MOTORCITY 500 - 500 MILES
If your going to race 500 miles forward why not in reverse? On June 26, 1986 Jim raised over 30 thousand dollars for the National Institute for Burn Medicine by driving a stock Detroit built Oldsmobile Cutlass 500 laps in reverse at the Flat Rock Speedway in Flatrock Michigan. Two days later it was sold at the dealer?

SMOKING IT ALL AT ONCE
Jim can't find satisfaction with just one smoking device so he stuffs his face with it all; 80 cigarettes, 12 cigars, 3 pipes. This stunt was performed live on the That's Incredible TV Show on June 12, 1983

LONGEST CAR PULL - 3.6 MILES
Talk about a goofy stunt! Jim thought this would be good for his home town, "Let's Pull Together Detroit". He pulled a vintage 1929 Chevrolet 3.6 miles from the General Motors World Headquarters to downtown Detroit on September 9, 1985 in 1 hour and 45 min. Whew!!

SMOKELESS CIGARETTE STUFFING - 60
Someone invents a new smokeless plastic cigarette to help you quit smoking and Jim finds a new way to set a goofy new world record. This was performed on January 19, 1984 in Minneapolis Minnesota as promotional stunt for there new Smoke Break smokeless cigarette. Jim stuffed 60 of the ill fadad products in his mouth! WOW! This one hurt!

FIRST UNDERWATER DRUMMER
One of Jims first world records back on July 17, 1977 Jim borrowed a drum set for a gig but instead he threw it in at the YMCA pool in Birmingham Michigan to be the first (non musician) drummer to play a drum solo underwater! Wow! Cool! Wet!

FRENCH FRIES STUFFING - 180 (McDonalds)
If your going to stuff food in your mouth why not our favorite McDonalds French Fries! Jim performed this stunt because smoking is ugly for the National Enquirer back on November 15, 1988. Starting with a cheeseburger Jim managed to cram 180 full size french fries into his jowels before having a grease rush which left him greasy all day.

COMING UP:
Sitting in all the seats at the Pasadena Rose Bowl? Trying to catch a grape in his mouth from over 800 feet? Attempting to drive a car from New York City to Los Angeles backwards across the United States in a national fund raising event. These are some of the stunts Jim is working on for the future. Jim's goal is to do at least one World Record for a charity every year for the rest of his life.
